Granada Theater Show Wrap-Up

Thanks to everyone who came out to the historic Granada Theater to see us Saturday June 20th! We had a killer crowd that was super supportive of not only our band but also all the other bands on the bill. Granada Theater does not often offer all-local bills like this one, so it was a rare treat to headline such a special show. We had several photographers and videographers shooting images that night and we are still sorting through hundreds of pictures and videos, but for now, please enjoy a few preliminary snaps from Bill Ellison Photography. Courtney Taylor-Taylor, lead singer of the American psych-rock band The Dandy Warhols, is currently working on remixes of The Orange’s album Sharing Vitamins at his studio in Portland, Oregon. After listening to the album in early May, Taylor-Taylor praised the album calling it “fucking great work” and spontaneously offered to remix of the album. The resulting product, titled Sharing Vitamins: the Courtney Taylor-Taylor Remixes will be available for digital download and streaming in mid-to-late summer 2015.

“I’m really excited to hear what Courtney does with our music” says The Orange lead singer Scott Tucker. “I’ve personally been a big fan of The Dandy Warhols for a long time and The Dandys have been a major influence on The Orange since the band’s inception. To have Courtney excited enough about what we’re doing to get involved means a lot.”

The Orange looks forward to sharing Courtney Taylor-Taylor’s mixes with their fans, Dandy Warhols fans, and music-lovers throughout the world.

Don't forget, your next chance to see us is when we headline the historic Granada Theater on June 20th. That's only six days away. If you haven't yet read our show preview, be sure to check it out and learn about the talented bands we're playing with that night.

WOW, THAT SOUNDS RAD! WHO IS PLAYING BESIDES THE ORANGE?

The Azalea Project The Azalea Project is a five piece rock band from Dallas. Although they've only been together ~1 year they have caught the attention of many local publications and blogs which is pretty impressive considering none of them have graduated high school yet. What were you doing in high school? Probably not rocking as hard as these talented youths. Goes good with: Grizzly Bear, Elliott Smith, Wilco and Radiohead Exit 380 Exit 380's 2014 release Photomaps has cemented the band as one of the premier blues and folk rock bands in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. With elements of hard rock, blues, folk, roots, Americana, and even Spanish music, Photomaps easily ranks as their best record over their thrilling 15-year history. Expect to hear several selections from this exciting album June 20th. Goes good with: Early Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Jayhawks, Counting Crows, Jimi Hendrix Dove Hunter Much like us, Dove Hunter released a new album this past April 2015. Their album Black Cloud Erupt Us was hailed by D Magazine as, "Southern-fried, bombastic aspect to the band’s rock and roll, but they’ve got an arty edge and a gentle touch." We couldn't have said it any better ourselves. Goes good with: Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd Jetta in the Ghost Tree Brandin Lea, former lead singer of Flickerstick, is back with his new band Jetta in the Ghost Tree. Even before their album release show earlier this month publications and blogs were hailing the return of one of the most talented musicians to ever come out of the D/FW area. We played with Jetta for their album release show earlier this month, and take our word for it, the new band is excellent. The music is more dark and heavy than Flickerstick but the writing and songcraft is still there. Don't miss this this act. Goes good with: Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Queens of the Stoneage
